Outfit Guide

 EARTH TONES 》

Natural tones found in your environment, earth tones and neutrals are best when choosing a palette for both in-home or outdoors to compliment nature.

  • Pro Tip - look on Pinterest or Instagram to create a mood board for your session, this will help create a clear vision in your mind of what style you are leaning towards. This will help narrow down a color palette and vibe/mood. Please reach out if you are hoping for me to create one for you or point you in the right direction.

Tip & Tricks for the entire Family

  • Don’t match the entire family (matching plaid shirts, matching dresses, matching white t-shirts)

  • Stay simple and think of texture and layers

I’LL PROBABLY ASK YOU TO RAISE YOUR ARMS OR DO SOMETHING REQUIRING YOU TO MOVE, DRESS SO YOU ARE COMFY!!

  • I always suggest a nice flowy maxi dress if possible. They are extremely flattering for any location/style and create such beautiful movement.

  • If a dress is not your style a casual look such as tunics, rompers, overalls etc. can look incredible and laid back. If you are wanting a more “bare” look you are even welcome to wear swim suits and suit covers if the location and time of year allows.

  • Remember if you FEEL great then you will look great. I am never apposed to barefoot photos either!

M E N ~

  • Men should be in neutral and earth toned toned (beige, brown, black, forest or olive green, crème) button down long/short sleeve shirts paired with khaki pants or regular jeans (stray away from grey shirts as they tend to show sweat stains).

  • Minimal shirt patterns are welcome if they compliment everyone and the scenery. They can pair a light jacket on top or sweater if necessary, minimal is best. Suspenders are always great for a western of classic feel!

  • Stray away from logos or neon colors. Usually kaki pants/shorts, and a button up shirt can do the trick. Don't overthink it and don’t be afraid to go bare.

  • Boys can go shirtless paired with overalls, suspenders or shorts. Simple pull overs, knit sweaters, button down long sleeve/short sleeve shirts. (no polos) Stray away from any neon’s of any kind or plaid patterns.

  • **COMFORT IS KEY** ANTICIPATE MOVEMENT

  • Choose a soft neutral color palette, Accessories such as hats can tie the entire shoot together. I love texture and the more the better, layer items if you choose.

H A I R & M A K E - U P ~

  • I suggest wearing your regular daily makeup (minimal makeup usually edits and photographs best!) and hair can be a bit fancier if you desire but I leave that to you and your unique style!

  • For girls I tend to stray away from hair accessories such as bows as we want to put more focus on them rather than their outfits!

Minimal clothing can look very intimate and in the outdoors of Colorado I full encourage you to get messy, be authentic and yourselves. If a location is near water you are welcome to utilize it at the end of your session and bring along some towels, a change of clothes and a bag for afterwards. If you are hoping for more intimate and raw moments, showing more skin can help create that mood, off the shoulder or leg slits can really add a nice effect!

EVERY LOCATION AND TIME OF YEAR AS WELL AS YOUR DESIRED OUTCOME WILL VARY GREATLY, REACH OUT TO ME IF YOU NEED IDEAS/TIPS, INPUT OR SOMETHING TO BORROW FROM MY CLIENT CLOSET.
