Lifestyle Photography is emotive based. Capturing you and your loved ones in a natural state, with a candid yet thoughtful approach. Organic connection is so important to my work, please show up ready to love on one another in every sense. These storytelling sessions lend an opportunity for vulnerability, authenticity and genuine emotion.

We celebrate and capture children best AS THEY ARE. Remember to relax and just have fun, I will guide you the entire session as needed but we will also spend the majority of the time letting your family enjoy one another. When it comes to kids it’s important to give them a positive experience and enjoy them. Some children have a harder time loosening up in front of the camera or a stranger, I will encourage you to interact with your little and keep the mood as light as possible!

PARENTS, try and let go. Remember that we are making memories not stiff pictures like in Macy’s. Tough days and moments happen with children but keeping the mood as light as possible and focusing on uplifting kids will help lighten any situation for the betterment of the photoshoot. Please remember to share these tips with every family member attending especially partners.

KIDS: Please dress them for the season! Be mindful of the season and make sure your children are dress accordingly. Always have extra clothes on hand - accidents happen! Make sure your kids are comfortable in their outfits: comfy=happy

~A NAP AND SNACK BEFOREHAND IF POSSIBLE IS KEY! TRY TO SQUEEZE IN SOME SNACKS BEFORE THE SESSION, I RECOMMEND DRESSING YOUR CHILDREN ONCE YOU ARRIVE TO AVOID ANY SPILLS OR STAINS!~

Coverage is key, please make sure if you plan to dress your child in a dress or skirt of any kind that they are covered appropriately as their will be lots of movement! Make sure shoes are comfortable, we will be outdoors (unless otherwise) in a natural area meaning grass, dirt, mud and water. *Be prepared for anything* as well as natural elements such as wind. There will be a small amount of standard family portraits with the remaining session being completely candid. We want to capture the true and unique bonds you share with your family. Be ready to cuddle, snuggle, laugh and maybe cry with your family. These are moments to create and remember for a lifetime so remember to smile, and have a good time.

PETS: Pets are welcome during the session if they are well behaved and leashed the entirety of the shoot and allowed at the location. Please remember drinking water for your pup if you choose to include them.

~ Promptness is KEY so please try to arrive before your set session time to prepare and dress kids, any time past 20 minutes late will be considered a no-show/cancellation and your retainer will be lost. To retain another date you will need to pay another retainer fee. Reschedules must be based on both party agreement of bad weather conditions such as rain, hail or snow at the photographer’s discretion. Any other circumstance aside from illness will be considered a cancellation. ~

WEATHER CONDITIONS: We will work is all weather conditions aside from direct rainfall or snowfall, please be prepared for any and all weather conditions as the main focus is authentic and lifestyle work. Dress appropriately for the weather conditions. Please keep typical season weather in mind when you are choosing your session date.

Photo Delivery: Your images will be available to download in high resolution via a digital gallery system. For safe storage I recommend a flash drive, SD card, hard drive or other physical storage device. For best print quality do not order prints off of mobile phones but directly from your storage device or computer.

Disclaimer: Lillian Lens Photography is not responsible for altering images to change how they appear in reality (including, but not limited to a person’s weight, physical appearance, the color of their clothing unless an artistic choice at the photographer’s discretion, where they appear in the photo, etc.) Basic editing (color, white balance, exposure and minor blemish removal, etc.) will be done by the photographer on the main subjects at the photographers discretion. Additional editing, beyond that which is included by the photographer when the images are delivered can be discussed and may be done at an additional fee ranging from $10-$50 per image depending on difficulty.

Lifestyle family sessions are not prop based and I do not recommend using too many. You are welcome to incorporate any props of your own such as flowers, blankets, tiebacks, furniture, or personal family items.

A selection of throws, quilts and blankets will be provided. Blanket selection changes according to season and environment.
